Welcome to the TVET Teachers Online CBET Learning System

This programme equips TVET teachers with skills to deliver competence-based curricula, covering teaching, assessment, learner support, inclusive practices, and educational technology through six practical modules.

Who to attend the Course

The programme is designed for current and aspiring teachers in Technical and Vocational Education institutions.

Programme Content Development

The modules have been developed through a consultative process, incorporating input from subject matter experts across various organizations.

The training course will be delivered through 6 key modules in 12 weeks. Each module is divided in units and each unit consists of learning sessions. The modules are organized into units, each comprising six integrated learning areas:
  • Guidance, Counseling and Mentorship for Career Development
  • Integrating Gender and Disability Inclusion in Facilitating Learning
  • Interpreting Competence-Based Curricula for Effective Delivery
  • Facilitating Learning Process in CBET
  • Using Information Communication Technology in Teaching and Learning
  • Assessment of Learning in Competence Based Education and Training
Objective

By the end of this programme, trainees will have acquired the necessary skills for effective delivery of Competence-Based Curriculum and assessment in the TVET context.

Specific Objective
Specific Objectives of the course include;
  • Equip trainees with the essential skills required for training students effectively using a competence-based approach
  • Develop trainees’ understanding of key delivery areas, including the integration of gender and social inclusion values, as well as effective approaches to mentorship.
  • Enhance trainees' knowledge of the requirements and procedures for TVET teacher registration.
Learning Methodology

The programme uses a learner-centred, blended learning approach combining online and face-to-face delivery. It includes interactive activities such

as videos, audios, quizzes, lesson notes, and self-assessments. Learners will access support services for clarification and participate in discussion forums with peers and facilitators. Upon completion of online modules, learners will attend face-to-face sessions at designated centres. Those who successfully complete all assessments will be awarded a certificate qualifying them for TVET teacher registration.

Course Policy

Learners are expected to take responsibility for their own learning and must complete all course requirements within 15 weeks from the official start date approved by the training centre.

Language

The course will be delivered in English.

Training fee

A total training fee of TZS 200,000 will be paid by each learner. An initial TSh 40,000 is payable during registration as registration fee. The remaining TZS 160,000 will be paid directly to the training centre as the course delivery fee.
